Photographing High Key Portraits on White for CARF (Cicatricial Alopecia Research Foundation)
As a Philadelphia corporate photographer, I am often asked to photograph a wide variety of projects and subjects. This group of portraits was commissioned by CARF, the Cicatricial Alopecia Research Foundation. CARF is a non-profit group focused on research related to cicatricial alopecia (CA), or scarring hair loss.
The leadership of CARF asked for portraits of attendees of their 2018 yearly conference being held in Philadelphia. They were to be used for a website update. My primary modifier was an Elinchrom Deep Umbrella. The deep form factor of this umbrella lends a focused quality to the light, which results in deeper shadows and a relatively quick transition from highlight to shadows.
