3D Printing

As a Philadelphia corporate photographer, I often collaborate on projects with CAPA Pictures, a photo and motion agency headquartered in Paris.  While they are based in France, their clients are often large multi-nationals with a presence in the United States.  The work is often documentary in nature.  One of their clients is Arkema Inc.  Arkema and it’s subsidiaries (collectively, Arkema Group) are world leaders in the production of specialty chemicals, plastics, resins, and adhesives.

I’ve mentioned them before – our first collaboration was the United States section of Arkema’s 2016 Annual Report.  I contributed to the 2017 report as well.

For this assignment, I was tasked with documenting two of Arkema’s 3D printing labs.  One lab was located at Arkema’s R&D headquarters in King of Prussia, PA.  The other lab was a Sartomer location in Exton, PA.  Sartomer is a subsidiary of Arkema Group.  Each lab specializes in unique 3D printing techniques, and the goal was to highlight both processes.

This work with pure documentary, with no portraits required.  The Sartomer location was particularly desirable to photograph, as it had just recently opened.
